The What:
COVID-19 global pandemic has disrupted the food value chain thus requiring better solutions to overcome the challenge. Food cold chain could be used as a logistics management approach to preserving the integrity and the quality of the products, eventually the value of itself, especially perishable products. This study aims to systematically review the existing studies on the beef cold chain management and compare the practices of beef cold chain management in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Philippines. Structured literature reviews and descriptive analysis are employed toward 37 selected empirical research articles to examine variations in practices of beef cold chain management among those three countries. The paper conducts seven indicators of beef cold chain management to be compared, those are storage, logistic infrastructure, the use of IT, harvesting methods, traceability, education of farmers, and customer knowledge. Lastly, this research provides the improvement guidelines and future research.
